Maykel Loomans, a UI designer from the Netherlands, has announced that he’s joined the Instagram team — alongside that of Tim Van Damme, who has been working with Instagram ever since Facebook’s acquisition of Gowalla.

From Maykel Looman’s personal blog and latest Dribbble shot, he states:

What I have learned in my short stint of freelancing is that I especially love working on a product, even if it’s been on a client- / contract basis. The focus this work brings allowed me to put extra care, and dare I say love, into my past few projects. Focusing on a single product is, for me, the next logical step.

Indeed, focusing on Instagram is Maykel Loomans’ next logical step. Now hopefully Instagram’s talents acquisition will come to good use – as no news has been heard on Facebook’s similar talent acquisition.
