CreateathonDC, the non-profit event we covered in June, has chosen the three local non-profits that will receive new web presences and branding from three teams of volunteers. If you choose to apply, you’ll be assigned to one of the following projects: Borromeo Housing, DC Diaper Bank, or Phoenix Bikes. Giving back is important, and what better way to do it than to provide our wide range of design and development skills?

The mission of CreateathonDC is to gather several teams of hand-picked professional, creative, and technical volunteers from DC’s creative community to create and provide a complete online make-over for three small non-profitslocated in the DC area. Our goal in doing so is to increase the accessibility of these organizations to the general population. With a stronger web presence, these organizations can expect a higher level of awareness brought to their cause.

The event is taking place in Washington DC from September 7th to 9th, but the founders plan to make it an annual occurrence. The goal of the event is to increase awareness and improve accessibility to information about the chosen non-profits, while giving creatives a chance to build something they’re proud of. They’ve also got some great sponsors, such as WordPress and Threespot, who are providing some great perks for the volunteers.
